Visitors

We sure had a nice time visiting with Mimi, Papaw and Lindsey (aka Sizzy). Jayce and Lakyn enjoyed playing with all their new toys, going to the park, playing Wii games and other games, being swung around and around, and getting Mimi and Papaw to do whatever they wanted. Brad and I enjoyed hanging out and visiting, and we sure appreciated the fact that we were able to enjoy an overnight date! We sure hated to see them go. Now, we will be looking forward to our next visit.

Razorback Christmas!

We might be in Texas, but we had a Razorback style Christmas! Jayce and Lakyn both were really excited about Christmas morning. Lakyn kept coming to us and saying, "box!" She wanted to get her gifts out of the packaging right away. As for Jayce, he opened his gifts just as fast as he could. He wanted to wait until after all his gifts were open to play.

School's Out!

I think I might be more excited about school being out for the holidays than Jayce. I'm not a morning person, so I will be enjoying a little extra sleep. Usually, Jayce and Lakyn will sleep until at least 8 or 8:30. So, that is about the time we got up this morning. What are our plans for today? NOTHING!!! We are just hanging out this morning watching Christmas movies. We will probably finish decorating the Christmas tree if we do anything at all. Tomorrow, we might have to do a few things to get ready for our company coming on Thursday. Christmas Eve will be super busy with cooking. As for today, we will just be lounging around.

A Visit from the Tooth Fairy!

My baby boy is growing up. Just this week, he has learned to ride his bike without
training wheels and lost his first tooth. Actually, the tough little football player pulled it out himself! The first thing Jayce did this morning was lift his pillow to see his money. He was pretty excited. When I was a little girl, I remember getting a quarter or two from the tooth fairy. I figure the tooth fairy has to account for inflation, so she left $4. I've heard some kids get a little less and some kids get up to $20!

Pretzel Carmel Candies

These are so easy and so yummy! 1 bag mini pretzels, 1 bag Rolo candies, 1 large bag pecan halves. Preheat oven to 250. Place pretzels on cookie sheet. Place a Rolo candy on each pretzel. Place in oven for about 4-5 minutes just until Rolo becomes soft. Place pecan half on top and slightly push. Let cool 10-15 minutes. Let harden completely in the refrigerator. These can be made a few days or a week in advance. These candies make great gifts for friends, coworkers, etc. Enjoy!

What's New?

So, what's new with the Crayne family? Here are a couple of hints!

You guessed it! We are expecting baby #3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't tell much from the sonogram picture, but this is baby Crayne's first picture. We were able to see the tiny baby and hear the heartbeat. A csection will be planned, so I should deliver the 3rd week in July! Another Texas baby! We couldn't be happier!!!!!!

A Girl's Best Friend!

15 years!

Just one reason why I love this man more than I did 15 years ago. Happy Anniversary, honey!

Way to Go, Jayce!

Congratulations Jayce on making all As, having Perfect Attendance and meeting your AR goals.

Easy Chicken Recipe

c

This recipe is so easy. 4 chicken breasts (sometimes I use tenderloins), 2 T honey, 2 T Country Style Grey Poupon mustard, 2 T Mayo. Mix the honey, mustard and mayo in a medium size bowl. Dip each piece of chicken in the mixture and place in baking dish. Sprinkle chicken with 1 small package of chopped pecans. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.

Jayce's Room

I'm finally finished with Jayce's room. I painted 2 walls sweatshirt gray a couple of months ago. I just painted the other 2 walls Cowboy blue. I found a couple of barn stars and painted those. I also ran across a couple of lockers that someone was throwing out. Score!! You can't see it in the picture, but I also painted his dresser the same color red as the train table. I think Jayce really likes his room. He says he wants a Texas Longhorns room the next time we move. We will see!

The Crayne Family 08

Our little family!

No Way, Santa!

Lakyn would not sit in Santa's lap this year. She screamed if I even put her near the old bearded man in the fuzzy red and white suit. Do you blame her? Jayce asked for only ONE thing....a Texas Longhorns helmet. Sweet kid! No, I don't have a star tatoo on my hand. It is just a stamp!

Redneck Fun!

How fun is this!!! The kids had a blast!

Still Having Computer Problems!

I had to send my computer to Kentucky to get fixed. It looks like it might be at least another week or two before I'm back up and running. So, what has been going on? We went to Arkansas for about 8 days during Thanksgiving. We had a great time with our family, but we are all still trying to recover from the trip. While we were there, we all managed to get a stomach virus. Oh, it wasn't pretty! As of now, we are getting into the Christmas spirit. We hope to put our tree up this weekend. Jayce has been begging to put it up all week! Don't give up on me. Check back in about a week. I hope to have new pictures up by then.

Computer Problems

I'm sending my computer off today to be fixed. Therefore, you probably won't hear from me for a couple of weeks. In the meantime, have a very happy & safe Thanksgiving holiday. God Bless You!

Thanksgiving Cookies

Aren't these adorable!! I plan to make these little ones for Jayce's class this week. Adhere a small peanut butter cup to a fudge striped cookie using a little icing. Pipe on a little square for the little pilgrim hat. This picture and idea is from A Little Loveliness blog.

Picture 2: Brother is there to lend his support.

Picture 3: Lakyn showed us her leg without the cast.

Picture 4: Lakyn walks out of the hospital with 2 shoes on!!

Lakyn will have exrays again in February. Please pray her leg completely heals and the injury doesn't interfere with growth.

A Visitor in the Night....

If you look closely, you will see a little visitor came by last night to get a little nibble out of Jayce's pumpkin. He was very upset about something trying to eat up his pumpkin. Here was the conversation he had with his Daddy about it:

Jayce: A raccoon came by and ate a chunk out of my pumpkin.
Daddy: A raccoon? What makes you think it was a raccoon?
Jayce: My moma told me.
Moma: Well, I said it could have been a raccoon.
Jayce: We have to get a net, set it out, and catch it!
Brad: What if it was a skunk?
Jayce: A skunk!!!! (We have a big problem around here with skunks)

We haven't heard another word about the pumpkin.

Sleeping Beauty

Lakyn just had to have this tiara! Isn't she sweet! My little sleeping beauty!

Lives, Eats & Breathes Football!

Jayce lives, eats (literally) and breathes football. He even found a way to use his Halloween candy to play football! Check it out!

God Bless America!

Every evening at 5:00 here on the base, everyone stops in their place for the National Anthem. I have been trying to teach Jayce to stop, put his hand over his heart and be still even when he is outside just having fun. I really never thought Lakyn was paying attention and really felt like I couldn't demand her to stop playing and be still. Yesterday, I was helping Jayce with his homework at the bar area. I had the screen door open so I could see Lakyn playing on the patio. The National Anthem caught us off guard like it always does even though it rings out at the same time each day. Jayce immediately put his hand over his heart, and said, "Look, Lakyn is being still." I looked out to find her standing very still with both hands on her chest. I then glanced back at Jayce with the wrong hand over his heart. I don't think I have ever been prouder to be an American than in that moment. Thank you Lord for this country, for our leaders, our military, citizens, and our future made up of children like mine.

Sweet shoes!

I don't know if you really took a good look at Lakyn's shoe she wore with her witch costume. Yes, shoe as in singular because she could only wear one due to the cast. Weeks before her accident, I decorated these shoes for her. I bought the plain black little shoes from Wal-Mart. I added a bow and some little jewels found in the craft section. All was done with the good ole hot glue gun.

Since I couldn't find just the right shoes for Lakyn due to the fact we live in a town with very little shopping, I stepped in and came up with my own thing. I also couldn't find a black hat for Jayce. So, I bought a Hannah Montana (the girl is everywhere) hat at Bealls, and then I just spray painted that baby.

You gotta do what you gotta do when you live in a town with very few shopping opportunities and hours away from a city. So, I'm back to living the rural life. It really takes me back to how I grew up. You just have to get a little creative! I think my Moma would be proud! So, let's see what kind of shoes I can come up with for Christmas! Stay tuned....

Trick or Treat!

Trick or Treat went very well. Jayce really enjoyed being a scary ghost. Lakyn was just the cutest little witch. A broken leg really didn't keep her down. She started off in the stroller, but it didn't take her long to get down and around. The kids really enjoyed receiving candy and giving out candy. Lakyn was able to say, "tick teet." Brad and I really enjoyed our little ghost and witch!

Fractured!

So, Lakyn has a broken leg! Yep, the fractured tibia was overlooked on the first set of xrays done about 10 days ago. We were sent to San Antonio yesterday morning for a cast. The fracture is in the growth plate, but the doctor said he doesn't think it will cause a problem even though there is still a slim chance. We will take Lakyn back to San Antonio in 2 weeks for removal of the cast and more xrays. Lakyn was very still and quiet during the entire day of xrays, waiting on the doctors, the drive, and the casting. She is a good little girl! She had a tough time last night getting around, but she is figuring it out. Please pray for fast and complete healing.

A Little Batty!

Lakyn might be going a little "batty" with her new cast. However, she is getting around a little better this morning. She will get it figured out!

Spooky!

Even though we had a very long day at the hospitals, we still managed to make a spooky Jack-O-Lantern before bed.

Update

Lakyn is now limping around. We go back to the doctor on Thursday for more xrays.

Emergency Room visit

Our precious little girl experienced her first visit to the ER on Monday night. She hurt her leg while bouncing in a bouncy castle with some other kids. The xrays didn't show any broken bones. Lakyn cannot put any weight on her right leg. If she doesn't improve in the next couple of days, we will take her back for a MRI. We are praying she is either badly bruised or sprained which will bad enought but not as bad as something being fractured or torn. I'm concerned today because it has been 2 days with very little improvement. She has crawled a little this morning, and she doesn't seem to be in as much pain when I touch her leg. Please pray Lakyn's leg will heal quickly. This picture was taken the day before the injury. I keep expecting her to run around with her baby stroller, or hear her little fast feet on the floor. I pray she will be up running around soon.
