Jayce had his first t-ball practice last night. Since it has been raining cats and dogs here for about a week, the practice took place in the indoor soccor field at the base gym. This is the reason for the dark photos. Jayce loved every minute of it. He got a tshirt and a cap, too. His team is called the Lil Dragons. His last game will take place the day the movers come!

If you love Gone with the Wind....
Sea Bag
Whenever a military wife sees one of these, she knows her man is home. This is called a sea bag. You can fit a whole house in one of these! Brad rolls all of his clothes which makes it easier for packing and keeps everything from becoming wrinkled. Anway, welcome home, honey! The kids and I are sure glad you are home safely!

Getting Ready!
Where's my Sonic drink?
What am I?
Shannon has broken several of my kind in the past, she tends to lash out and say ugly words when we don't work right, and she really needs a new one. What am I?
I actually bought myself something! I can't wait!
I actually bought myself something! I can't wait!
Look!
What I did yesterday....
Yesterday, I set out to find a frame for Lakyn's 1 year old picture. For those of you who love Michael's, don't go without the sales paper because there is usually a coupon on the back. I got this frame for $14.99 after using my 40% off coupon. If you don't get the sales paper in the mail, sometimes there will be sales papers there at the store. However, you can always find these coupons online at their website. This is true for Hobby Lobby, too.
Isn't my precious, baby girl an angel!

Dump Cake

This is cross between a cake and a cobbler. It is the easiest recipe. Jayce made this one with a little supervision.
INGREDIENTS:
1 (20 ounces) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 (21 ounces) can prepared more fruit cherry pie filling
1 (18.25 ounces) box yellow cake mix
1 sticks butter or margarine, cut into 12 slices
1/4 cup chopped nuts (your choice - optional)
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 for glass baking dish). Have a 9 by 13-inch baking pan ready.
Dump undrained pineapple baking dish or pan and spread it out evenly.
Using a spoon, dump globs of cherry pie filling evenly on top of the pineapple.
Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the cherry and pineapple layers.
Cut butter into slices with a butter knife and place slices evenly over cake mix.
Sprinkle nuts on top if you're using them.

Something Jayce never did!
Jayce never colored on the walls. Whatever Jayce was as a toddler, Lakyn isn't. Whatever Jayce wasn't as a toddler, Lakyn is. It is funny how opposite siblings can be from one another. Lakyn was quite pleased with herself. I didn't have the flash on for the last photo, but you can tell what she is thinking.

Congratulations, Jayce!

Jayce graduated from PreK today. Along with his classmates, he sang songs, recited poems, and said a memory verse. All went well....well, maybe except for when he announced he had to PEE and started holding himself. His teacher allowed him to leave the program to relieve himself. Of course, everyone giggled and just thought it was too cute. A few minutes later, another child announced she too needed to go to the restroom. Anyway, Jayce got back just in time to say his memory verse which he did a fabulous job. The teacher told each child they reminded her of a person from the Bible. Jayce reminds her of Peter because he is so passionate, loves organization and order, and loves fishing.
Jayce has learned so much this year. Some of his favorite lessons have included the Solar system, birds, taking care of yourself, and Bible stories. His teacher is wonderful! She has been so patient, kind, gentle, and loving. She is also very creative and organized. Jayce has brought home some really neat projects.
Jayce was sad to see the last day. He told me this morning he would like two more days of preschool. He is already talking about how much he is missing his teacher. He is such a loving, little boy. We are so proud of him! Congratulations, Jayce!

Butterfly House
Goslings!

It is gosling season here in Nebraska. The babies are so cute. Since we go to the park just about every single day, we are watching these babies grow so quickly. Sometimes, the babies are up on the bank with their mothers. When you pass by, the mothers will hiss! Day before yesterday, the babies were up on the sidewalk. Their size had doubled in just a week! Jayce and Lakyn both love to watch the birds. Lakyn gets excited and starts doing her dog noise. I guess she thinks all animals are dogs. Too sweet!
CRAZY!
I just had to post this picture of this crazy person. Yes, he is in the water without a shirt. On this particular day, it was 63 degrees outside! We were all in warmups and light jackets! Yes, Nebraskan folks think it is HOT! It was a little warmer yesterday, but so windy. My neighbor was outside mowing his lawn without a shirt! People, this is chilly weather! The kids here will probably be swimming next week since they get out of school here tomorrow!

Happy Mother's Day!
I woke to the smell of bacon and coffee. Could that be my dear husband in the kitchen cooking? Yes! He prepared sourdough pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Fresh flowers had also been placed on the dining room table with cards. What a dream! I received the most precious cards. I got BIG hugs from Jayce, Lakyn and Brad. Jayce said the sweetest little prayer. I enjoyed a peaceful breakfast with my favorite people.
Back to reality. After breakfast, Lakyn knocked over the vase of flowers. It took three towels to clean up all the water. Just as soon as I cleaned that up, I turned around to find orange juice on the floor. After changing Lakyn's clothes, I fished an orange crayon out of her mouth while Jayce took a green crayon out of her hand. I won't even tell you what kind of fit she threw! Brad gathered his bags and headed out the door for another trip. My little boy stood at the window with tears in his eyes, and my little girl held on to the doorknob and screamed. I put Lakyn up on my hip and carried her back up stairs. I walked over to Jayce and gave him a hug. We laughed after I told Jayce, "Daddy, I want another pony." It is just one of the few lines from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that gives us the giggles.
I'm having the time of my life loving my kids, parenting with the love of my life, cleaning up spills, taking crayons out of little mouths, comforting them when needed, and being able to giggle through tears. Thank you to Jayce, Lakyn and Brad for a wonderful morning. I thank my Heavenly Father for allowing me to take care of these two precious, little children.
Happy Mother's Day to all!

I've Missed You!
It has been a LONG winter! I have really missed my flip flops. The pair on the left are my favorite. I think I got these last year for $2.50. I keep these by the door at all times for a quick trip to the grocery store, walking out to the mailbox and playing outside with the kids. The pair on the right are new this year from Coldwater Creek. Thanks Mary Gail! Brad says I will probably wear flip flops from now until we leave Texas (if we ever leave). Welcome back, friends!
