Happy Mother's Day!

I woke to the smell of bacon and coffee. Could that be my dear husband in the kitchen cooking? Yes! He prepared sourdough pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Fresh flowers had also been placed on the dining room table with cards. What a dream! I received the most precious cards. I got BIG hugs from Jayce, Lakyn and Brad. Jayce said the sweetest little prayer. I enjoyed a peaceful breakfast with my favorite people.

Back to reality. After breakfast, Lakyn knocked over the vase of flowers. It took three towels to clean up all the water. Just as soon as I cleaned that up, I turned around to find orange juice on the floor. After changing Lakyn's clothes, I fished an orange crayon out of her mouth while Jayce took a green crayon out of her hand. I won't even tell you what kind of fit she threw! Brad gathered his bags and headed out the door for another trip. My little boy stood at the window with tears in his eyes, and my little girl held on to the doorknob and screamed. I put Lakyn up on my hip and carried her back up stairs. I walked over to Jayce and gave him a hug. We laughed after I told Jayce, "Daddy, I want another pony." It is just one of the few lines from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that gives us the giggles.

I'm having the time of my life loving my kids, parenting with the love of my life, cleaning up spills, taking crayons out of little mouths, comforting them when needed, and being able to giggle through tears. Thank you to Jayce, Lakyn and Brad for a wonderful morning. I thank my Heavenly Father for allowing me to take care of these two precious, little children.

Happy Mother's Day to all!
