God Bless America!

Every evening at 5:00 here on the base, everyone stops in their place for the National Anthem. I have been trying to teach Jayce to stop, put his hand over his heart and be still even when he is outside just having fun. I really never thought Lakyn was paying attention and really felt like I couldn't demand her to stop playing and be still. Yesterday, I was helping Jayce with his homework at the bar area. I had the screen door open so I could see Lakyn playing on the patio. The National Anthem caught us off guard like it always does even though it rings out at the same time each day. Jayce immediately put his hand over his heart, and said, "Look, Lakyn is being still." I looked out to find her standing very still with both hands on her chest. I then glanced back at Jayce with the wrong hand over his heart. I don't think I have ever been prouder to be an American than in that moment. Thank you Lord for this country, for our leaders, our military, citizens, and our future made up of children like mine.
