5 Months down...5 1/2 weeks to go!

Easter came and went. The kids and I enjoyed an Easter egg hunt a the golf course, fishing, and church. Conley called all the eggs "balls!" Jayce caught a good sized bass on his own with a spinner bait he put on himself. Everyone at the golf course was thrilled and excited for him. Conley and Lakyn caught their share of little sunfish with worms. Yes, I baited hooks, took off fish, and baited more hooks, and took off more fish! Lakyn looked sweet in the dress she picked out herself!

Mother's day came and went. We enjoyed church and then a bbq with the Hedmans and Moles. Brad sent tulips which are my favorite. The kids made little handmade gifts and cleaned house. It was a sweet day.

Baseball came and went. Jayce wrapped up baseball season. He did awesome this year. He really seemed to know what he was doing and enjoyed himself. The running to town 3-4 times a week for practice and games has come to a halt.

Vehicle problems came and well, still around. The tahoe is back home after the transmission was replaced for a pretty penny. I'm still trying to get my money back for the dud of a transmission that we ordered. It has been a nightmare! The car is still down, but the truck is running fine thanks to a good friend.

Mimi and Papaw came and went. We really enjoyed having Mimi and Papaw come for a visit. The kids had some time to themselves with just the grandparents. I enjoyed time alone which was much needed. The kids enjoyed swimming at the hotel with Mimi and Papaw and hanging out playing.

Brad is hanging in there. He is as sick of the deployment as we are. Actually, this has been a pretty rough month. I think we are all just at the end of our rope. Brad is due to leave there in 4 1/2 weeks. We will see him in about 5 1/2 weeks. We are all really ready. I'm starting to feel like he is coming home soon. I feel things changing. We can hardly wait. Here in a few days, we will be able to make our 30 day paper chain. I have been looking forward to this during the entire deployment. The pool opens next week which will keep us busy and pretty cool. Jayce has 2 weeks of school left. We have to find little dates along the way to get excited about until the big day comes to us!

We are all doing ok. The countdown is on! We are so excited! I'm praying for a good month.
