More Easter Photos

What did we do this Easter? First, we got up Saturday morning and headed to the golf course here on base. There were 7,000 eggs out there! On your mark, get set, go....in less than a minute all the eggs were gathered. It really is a site to see. Because they have divided the kids up in age groups, I went with Jayce while Brad went with Lakyn. It was only fair since I went with Lakyn last year and Brad went with Jayce. After the egg hunt, we headed down to the pond. The kids were disappointed because the fish weren't biting. Actually, we don't think there were any fish since we heard alot of the fish were killed a few months back. Lakyn didn't mind much since she was happy sitting on the quilt eating Easter candy while I tried desperately to keep it out of Conley's mouth. Later that evening, we dyed Easter eggs. I enjoyed doing this as a kid, and it seems my kids enjoy it, too.

Brad's family did the whole Easter bunny thing when he was little. My family never did, so I just asked Brad if he wanted to do it or not. He swore we did it last year, but I'm pretty sure we didn't. When the kids woke up Sunday morning, they were gretted with a new DVD and a handful of candy in their baskets. Jayce noticed right away that the eggs were gone. He told me the Easter bunny didn't come last year. I told him it was up to him to believe or not. I really don't want the focus to be the Easter bunny no more than I want the focus to be on Santa/gifts during Christmas. I think it is a fun part of the holiday but certainly not the focus or meaning. The whole morning we talked about Christ and how he died for us and "Up from the grave he arose" (a song we used to sing at church when I was a kid). We headed to an early service at church. Our neighbor hosted a fun little egg hunt at her house later that day. All the kids were cute hunting eggs. Conley even had tiny plastic eggs with a half of a Cheetos puff in each one. Too funny, and thanks Papaw!

This is Conley's first Easter. Oh, what a beautiful and sweet baby the Lord has given to us! Jayce sure is a sweet fisherman and big brother. Lakyn is just a little Moma! Brad is wonderful husband and the best Daddy in the world! I am so blessed!

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes;
He arose a victor
From the dark domain,
And He lives forever
With His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
