One thing military families learn to do is say goodbye even though it is never easy. We always hope it will really be a "so long" rather than a goodbye. Who knows when our paths will meet again. Saying goodbye is getting more painful for me because my kids are now old enough to experience the sadness that comes with saying goodbye to their friends. These friends were part of their lives for a season. They had fun, learned from one another, and helped shape each other.
Presli and Jayce rode the bus together all year. They could be really cute together. Jayce would pretty much play whatever Presli wanted to play. Once, we found Jayce on a leash with Presli leading him around. They were playing Scooby Doo.
Lorelai and Lakyn are just months apart in age. For months after they first met, Lakyn told me her name was Lorelai. I'm not sure if Lorelai started the nickname or not, but Lakyn is known as "Lakie" to her. So, Lakyn now refers to herself as "Lakie." Now when we pass by Lorelai's house, Lakyn points and says it is Lorelai's house. It might always be that way for Lakyn as long as we live here.
Presli and Lorelai's Moma and Daddy are being missed, too. They are good people. I am missing their sweet Moma. We've had some good laughs!! I wish them the best and hope we can meet up again.
God Bless You, Findley family! You are missed!
