We were at the Texas Roadhouse when the storms started up. We rarely eat out during the week, but we were celebrating Brad getting finished with court. Just before we received our food, our waitress informed us of the tornado siren warning. About 10 minutes later, we were told to go into the restrooms. So, Brad and Jayce went their way, and Lakyn and I went our way. I had no idea what to expect. About 15 minutes later, we were told to return to our tables. The sirens continued to sound while the rain came down in sheets. Once the rain died down a little, we felt it was safe to begin our 20 minute drive home.
The drive home was so scary! The kids felt safe in their carseats while I bit my nails. The clouds were so black, the lightening so bright all around, and the rain beat down so hard. We made it home safely, and stayed glued to the television in the basement. At one point, we got some hail followed by more rain and lightening. There were tornadoes all around.
Our family is safe tonight. The storms seemed to have passed, but not without fatalities and injuries. My prayers go out to all the families affected by the storms.
